Olive Oil does not cause disease.
Olive Oil should not be used for cooking. Olive Oil loses its health benefits when heated. This belief is common. However, it's possible to be wrong.
Olive Oils' oil fat content is the most important. According to the American Heart Association, monounsaturated oils lower bad cholesterol and may reduce your risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
All Extra Virgin olive oils have the same amount of monounsaturated fats regardless of how they are refined or heated.

Smoke Position For Olive Oil
Any component can become unfit to use if it is heated beyond the smoke point. Olive Oil, light-tasting Olive Oil, and 395 to 410° F.
